Joe Kirkish was Pasty Cam's roving reporter/photographer last weekend in Copper Harbor for the annual ride-in, dubbed “Thunder in the Harbor.” Joe filed the following report to accompany his photos:

The bikes dribbled in, a few at a time, complaining about the rain they faced along the way, but the sun came out and the fun began. Bikes lined the same street occupied last week by the vintage cars and ran for blocks along Copper Harbor's main street. The majority were Harley Davidsons, but a few smaller, more colorful bikes were spotted, too. Bikers often have the reputation of being wild and raucous, but it was far from rowdy; the only noise came when the bikes roared up. In the afternoon, a carnival atmosphere prevailed - bike related crafts in tents, brats and hot dogs served with pop and beer. Games followed, including the ones pictured here... mechanical bull riding and a water-filled balloon toss, with the riders getting soaked pretty good when the balloon hit the target... them!

Been to many of these events, great times, great people and great looking and sounding Harleys! Did they have the clothes pin or weinie bite events?

Yup that's what it's like every good weather weekend in Savanna Il. Get ticked once in a while when some one gets TOO noisy. But loved to sit out front of our gallery and watch! Most bikers are friendly and enjoy sharing their fun. Miss it here at the senior apartments this summer you can imagine.

Keweenaw National Historic Park has got a chance. We won the
Humane society contest right? We are a bit behind the leader, but
you can vote as many times are you would like.

Ps. It requires a flash player and you have to search for Keweenaw

Not like "Back in the Day!" Boy...if these pics were taken 30 years ago...I think they'd be a little different! (Right? My fellow Harbor Rats...) Wow...I remember bartending at the Mariner during one Oktoberfest..Standing at the bottle opener with a case of good old Bosch long necks...just opening bottles and selling 'em just as fast...we ran out of that brand that night! LOL (Good old Bosch..reminds ya of "The Flopper"...he liked his Bosch...RIP Flop!!)
