Looks like a telephone poll, which adds new meaning to "Reach out and touch someone".

Oops...unless those people are voting, I guess it's a pole.

By Pat & Glenda (Gormfrog) on Thursday, June 24, 2010 - 11:14 am:

Well....when 'FIVE' didn't get a response, thought perhaps the material that was being rolled out in the 2001 construction shot of the Soo locks might have been a log?? Charlie doesn't want us to get in a rut, simple quick answers.(A rut is a grave with both ends 'knocked out'!) So, we opted to take charge of our lives, gamble, say 'six'...oh well..

The Norway Spring photo reminds me so much of a roadside park near Gaylord where my family used to stop for our picnic lunch when driving Up North (which always meant the UP!) from the Detroit area, in the 1950's, before I-75 was built. There was a little creek with a small bridge, and a place to drink that looked similar to the one in this photo. I was able to locate that park some years ago ... and boy is it small, but the memories are wonderful.

Gormfrog, I like your reasoning ... nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Diana :)
