Look around just about anywhere in the Keweenaw and you're bound to find some beautiful wildflowers. For instance, Chad Johnson was recently kayaking when he came across this water lily. He maneuvered his kayak alongside it and snapped a shot, so we could share in it's beauty, too. Another example is the delicate wild iris that Liz Siivola spotted while on the biking trails near the Boston Pond. Last but not least, we have this interesting flora from Lynn Virtanen. I am completely baffled by this one. So if anyone out there in Pasty Land can help us identify this unusual flower, I'd be most appreciative. Thanks to all three of our flower power Pasty Camists today!

I believe the mistery flower is a Self-heal or Heal-all plant (Prunella vugaris L.) it is from the mint family.

Look at the first picture and look to the left of the flower and see if you see a star shape on the leaf.

Very pretty flowers, 'eh? Yes, Mickill Mouse, we see the star on the leaf. I like the color of the petals on the Heal-all plant, violet or blue.
