With Lake Superior and innumerable inland lakes in the Keweenaw, fishing is something anyone and everyone can enjoy here UP North. Ashlee Harvey's family enjoyed a fishing excursion on Rice Lake, where even the dog was included. Her little guys were all decked out with the colorful lifejackets and poles at the ready. Only problem is... the fish were right there under their nose or in this case, the dock! :-> All kidding aside, I'm sure they must have caught a fish or two, but even if they didn't the time spent with friends and family makes it all worthwhile.

Remember, the PastyFest parade later this morning in Calumet, and you can treat the family to a Pasty Central pasty lunch in Aggasiz Park, served by the volunteers of Main Street Calumet.

On many trips "back home" I would take the boys fishing out to Rice Lake..Would stock up at Delfs Landing and then proceed to catch the big ones. One morning we started about 6;a.m. and a little later I noticed both boys sleeping on deck. Pike and perch were the fare of the day.

Looks like fun!!!!

Other than the 1 that got away, did they catch their quota of fish?

Nice photo...it reminds me of catching Pike on Sand Lake in the UP with my Dad, many moons ago.

Look at the little guy holding down the boat with all his might! Love that boat!
