Ontonagon County yields many a place to cast a line, including some along hiking trails at the Porcupine Mountains. Brooke Gubacz and her son Taylor recently went on a fishing expedition to the Porcupine Mountains and surrounding area. Starting off with a walk along the North Mirror Lake Trail, where Taylor was busy checking out the water under the bridge, probably scouting out whether it was worth wetting his line there or not. He did actually do just that at the Silver City Public Access, in the third shot. Brooke said she really enjoys taking him fishing, since he baits his own hook now and she passes the time by doing some reading. Sounds like a win-win situation to me!

Brooke, would you adopt me? Your son will long live these wonderful memories you create for him.

We are off to a few days of camping (and more fishing) before he goes downstate to his Dads this weekend.

Heading up north to the UP next week - I see there are more from Iowa that go there!!!!

In the third photo shot is the water level lower than it has been in years past? Perhaps, the level looks low because of the camera angle.

Brooke, thank you for the photos; they are absolutely great! Little boys grow up so fast; it seems like yesterday my sons, who are now grown men, were exploring the Copper Country.

Alex, I would love to be in the Porcupine Mountains right now. It is one of my favorite places to go to when I go home. ( I am raising two hands!) Have great day everyone.

Great scenes, Brooke! Must've been warmer when your son reached his destination.....seems to have shed his long pants and jacket...and I'll bet his doggie is down at the water's edge. Enjoy your son while he's young....our son turns the BIG 50 today. :>

HEY ALEX, I WAS THINKING AS SOON AS I SAW THE PICTURES THAT I WOULD SURE LIKE TO BE THERE DOING SOME FISHING OR JUST LOOKING AT THE VIEW.
