Past-E-Mail: Cam Notes - 2010: June: Jun 09-10 |
By Mary Drew at Pasty Central (Mdrew) on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 - 08:05 am: Ontonagon County yields many a place to cast a line, including some along hiking trails at the Porcupine Mountains. Brooke Gubacz and her son Taylor recently went on a fishing expedition to the Porcupine Mountains and surrounding area. Starting off with a walk along the North Mirror Lake Trail, where Taylor was busy checking out the water under the bridge, probably scouting out whether it was worth wetting his line there or not. He did actually do just that at the Silver City Public Access, in the third shot. Brooke said she really enjoys taking him fishing, since he baits his own hook now and she passes the time by doing some reading. Sounds like a win-win situation to me! By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 - 08:08 am: Show of hands...who would like to be there right now? By RD, Iowa (Rdiowa) on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 - 08:10 am: By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 - 08:15 am: Brooke, would you adopt me? Your son will long live these wonderful memories you create for him. By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 - 08:21 am: We are off to a few days of camping (and more fishing) before he goes downstate to his Dads this weekend. By Ron Petersen (Rpetersen) on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 - 09:08 am: Heading up north to the UP next week - I see there are more from Iowa that go there!!!! Brooke, thank you for the photos; they are absolutely great! Little boys grow up so fast; it seems like yesterday my sons, who are now grown men, were exploring the Copper Country. By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 - 10:16 am: Great scenes, Brooke! Must've been warmer when your son reached his destination.....seems to have shed his long pants and jacket...and I'll bet his doggie is down at the water's edge. Enjoy your son while he's young....our son turns the BIG 50 today. :> By Just me (Jaby) on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 - 11:28 am: Great pics. Life doesn't get much better than that! By Jim Nicholas (Jimn) on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 - 11:50 am: HEY ALEX, I WAS THINKING AS SOON AS I SAW THE PICTURES THAT I WOULD SURE LIKE TO BE THERE DOING SOME FISHING OR JUST LOOKING AT THE VIEW. By Christine Wetherell (Mnblondie) on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 - 01:51 pm: We'll be there in a few weeks. Can't wait!! By Thomas Baird (Thomas) on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 - 04:11 pm: "A Dog and her boy" sounds like something Norman Rockwell would illustrate. Thanks 4 sharing. By Morning Glory (Lucylu) on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 - 04:31 pm: I would like to be there right now. With my kids and a few fishing poles! By Yooperguide (Huntandfish) on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 - 05:36 pm: I am there, just a few miles down the road. Enjoy everything about the Porkies and the UP. Clean air, blue skies, and the sound of Gitchee Gumee pounding on the shore. |
