By sometimesyooper (Nancyd) on Thursday, May 27, 2010 - 08:01 am: According to the Bear website, Lily and Hope have been reunited successfully. So this potentially tragic story has had a happy ending for now. I still can't believe how emotional it was when it looked like Hope might be gone for good. I think I need grandchildren! We are flying to Michigan tomorrow for some R&R in Eagle Harbor - can't wait! By Deb L. (Lakegirl) on Thursday, May 27, 2010 - 08:07 am: UPDATE: Hope was found ALIVE last night. I made a post about it last night but want to make sure that interested parties heard the good news. Now we'll see if Lily will do her job as mother or take a different course--it is natures way sometimes. But once again, Thanks for allowing me to share. By Diana P. (Diana) on Thursday, May 27, 2010 - 10:07 am: There is a video titled "Lily & Hope's Reunion" posted at "Lily the Black Bear" on Facebook. I got there from www.bear.org. I'm sure it will be on that website soon, too. :) By Diana P. (Diana) on Thursday, May 27, 2010 - 12:08 pm: For those of us following the Lily and Hope saga, I just noticed that the "Lily & Hope Reunification" video is on the www.bear.org website, under "Lily and Hope", then "Lily and Hope Video Clips". Happy Day! :) By Uncle Chuck at Little Betsy (Unclechuck) on Thursday, May 27, 2010 - 01:02 pm: By Thomas Baird (Thomas) on Thursday, May 27, 2010 - 04:27 pm: By Richard Wieber (Dickingrayling) on Thursday, May 27, 2010 - 07:36 pm: The photo of the gals in the potato field really brought back memories. In the '40s we were allowed to get out of school to pick potatos for "the war effort" and that's just the way it looked. Hard work for some of us 'town' kids but because almost all of us had a family member(s) in the military it was our way to support them. Thanks for the memory. | |||
