Here in the Copper Country, sunsets come in all sorts of sizes and colors - pinks, reds, yellows, to name a few, but Sally Beaudette grabbed her camera recently to record this one, that's not your typical sunset. This one looks like a hole opened up in the clouds for the rays to shine through in one big clump. Beautiful, to say the least... and I bet it was one of those quirks of nature that was there one minute and then gone the next. It's so bright streaming through those clouds, doesn't it make you wonder where the sun's rays were shining down on, that day.

Happy Birthday Dylan

Very nice. I am glad that the Great Lakes don't have to contend with the oil-slick tragedy that is happening in the Gulf. What a disaster.

Greetings Alex:

Have there been articles about the Chinese Carp in the Illinois River heading toward Lake Michigan in your area? Hopefully, the gulf oil can be cleaned up, I'm not so sure about the carp.

Happy Birthday to my neice Missy Moyle who lives in Manitowa, Wisconsin. Have a wonderful day honey

I have to agree with you, J.T., the carp invasion is a more serious problem as far as I'm concerned. Frankly, I think the oil situation is a 'political' problem, to be used by/for someone's advantage...if you get my drift.;<

I like the way the sun's rays show through the clouds like that. I remember that happening returning to Midland in December 1973 from my Grandmother's funeral. It made us feel she was resurrected to glory with God.

Hi
There was a motto "Find the Crack" in a recent TV show. It was short for "Find the crack in the darkness; it's how the light gets in". The cloudscape illustrates the concept.

Speaking of mottos, the late Ernie Harwell had one: "If you have a choice between being right and being kind, choose being kind."

Ask the Gulf Coast businesses, Fisherman, Shrimp harvesters etc. if they would rather have something like the Carp or have the oil slick to deal with!
Someone came up with an idea (duh) if those Carp arrive, make an enterprise of harvesting them to eat, or grind them up for animal feed or fertilizer!
