Halli Lindley did a good job snapping these pictures of her son, without him even noticing. He was concentrating so hard on the job at hand, that he didn't even see Mom with the camera. She said, "He was so into it, until a squirrel threw a pine cone down at him. Then he was totally insulted." How fun to see a younster enjoying the outdoors and playing in the sand without a care in the world, except working that yellow backhoe, to move those mounds of sand....."a little boy's work is never done."

Thanks 4 the memory. I had toys like that when I was that age. I had a steam shovel, road grader, cement mixer, and a dump truck.

Very cool photos of the young boy intently playing with his heavy equipment toys! My sons had a ball with their toys like those, at a similar age. Thank you, Halli & Mary. :-)

Fun memories indeed. With 4 sons my favorite was son #4, Andy, with young neighbor boy Rick "combining" and "baling hay" in our gravel driveway. Handsful of pulled grass made for good "hay". Nice to see some kids today still use their imaginations :>)

I loved toys like that as a child...collected toy cars, trucks, trailers, and such. But I think I would've preferred to be riding the pony in the background. I guess I was what we called way back then, a 'tom-boy'.:)

Great, maybe this young contractor can fix some of these roads.

I had 3 brothers growing up and I loved playing with their Tonka trucks and tanks and matchbox cars. My youngest brother got a remote control tank for Christmas and I use to love to run over my dolls with it. ;O). We use to play soilders and we would dirt-bomb my dolls, then had to bury them after we thought they were dead. It was fun.
