If you're looking at these pictures and thinking to yourself that it looks like the covered road near Freda, you're absolutely correct. Only today's shots from Joe Kirkish are showing it as more of the UNcovered road, since the leaves haven't sprouted yet here in the Keweenaw. Surprising what a difference all those leaves overhead make, as once the trees are covered in green again, you'll barely be able to see the sky peeking through. With the trees so close to the sides of the road, it still gives you a kind of "tunneling" effect, though. Anybody up for a road trip?

That's a great ride in all the seasons I've been on it...haven't done it in the winter...I bet that's stunning on a sunny day!

We're always up for a road trip down the covered road!

I have pictures of that road. Having grown up with relatives up there, we took that road a lot when I was a kid. We thought it was so cool. It still is!

Yes, we're up for a road trip. We just bought a Jeep and will be
up there soon.

I am blessed to travel in & out up & down roads like this just to leave my home here in Tennessee. When i get out to my main road here in TN. i now have the best of the best roads to drive on compared to what i was used to in MI. I will be on MI. roads here soon, keeping an eye open for pot holes..
