When I saw these photos in Donna MacIntosh's album, my first thought was to use one of them for the end of the month, but then I spotted the small rainbow and it's reflection in the water, and it's exactly how it looks this morning. Neither Donna or myself are quite sure why this little rainbow was present in the air in the first place, as it wasn't raining. But what a neat phenomenon to capture with the sunrise over Keweenaw Bay.

Sidenote: Our photographer today, is none other than Pasty Cam's main cheerleader for the Copper Country Humane Society contest that ended yesterday. Donna began posting the link each day on the Cam Notes page earlier in the year. Without that daily reminder, some of us may not have remembered to vote every day. Thanks for your hard work keeping us on our toes, Donna! We are all looking forward to the results when they come out on Wednesday.

Those are both beautiful, peaceful scenes. It would be heaven to start each morning with a view like that. Great pictures, Donna. I can't wait to hear the winning results on Wednesday, for Copper Country, of course.

And thanks Mary...but CCHS had a lot of cheerleaders. The local radio station's Todd VanDyke was the main guy...his broadcasting everyday...was the real cheerleader...had he not been reminding everyone, everyday....I'd have not had mine! :D

Seriously...thanks to EVERYONE...the fever was caught big time...and so many folks around the USA and outside of it voted and voted...it really was phenomenal!

The POWER OF THE PASTY, however, really stood out! Congrats TEAM!

Thanks, Richard (Notroll) for the explanation of the "Sundogs". They are definitely awesome phenoms. Have seen them on Sharon Smith's Copper Harbor cam on occasion.

I, too, thought it was the end of the month. :o) We have been clicking to feed the animals for quite a while, a year or more? They'll send you a daily reminder if you click on it.
