A few years ago I was working way up in the top level of the Quincy Mine shafthouse in Hancock, mounting some wireless equipment we use to serve remote Pasty.NET members. The view out the window was amazing. What year was it?

Check out the 2001 no-snowmnobile sign;it's planted right in a sled's track, possibly a posed photo?

By Thomas Baird (Thomas) on Saturday, March 20, 2010 - 08:28 am:

Wonderful photos. The 2003 photo kind of reminds me of the Tunnel of Trees on former M-131 (now M-119) between Harbor Springs and Cross Village.

Did that snow screw actually work? I have never heard of one.
James R. Barker loaded with coal and heading for the Soo Locks (open 5 days early--March 20 this year.) Should be a much better shipping season--let us hope so!!

Thomas...Tunnel of Trees is a great drive. I try to cruise it at least once a year on the Goldwing.
