The Lake Linden-Hubbell Boys Basketball team is on a roll, having won the Copper Country Conference and now the Districts this past Friday night. The Lakes hadn't won a C.C. Conference title since 1944 and with this District win, that makes it the first time they've won consecutive District titles, too. Way to go Lakes!!
John Gervais shares a few photos with us, from Friday night, starting with a good shot of the Lakes refurbished gymnasium, packed full with fans. I bet there were more than a few nervous folks in that crowd, on both the Lakes and the Jeffers sides. The nerves are all settled down in John's next shot, but I'm sure the adrenaline is pumping high for each one of those young men and Coach Asiala, too. The third shot doesn't need any explanation, as two of the players show the crowd their reward for playing hard.
My favorite shot though, is the last one... that's Coach Joel Asiala getting a congratulatory hug from his daughter Mia, after the game. Now if that isn't priceless, I sure don't know what is.
The Lakes go on to play in the Regionals tonight at 7:30, at the Negaunee High School. They take on the defending Regional Champion, Bark River Harris. LET'S GO LAKES!!

Regarding Electric Park-----it was located just off US41 south of Calumet. Tecumseh is the name of the area. They had dances and maybe something like a carnival----it was lit up by many light bulbs owned by who???
