If you thought that Copper Harbor is a destination to visit only in the summer months, then you don't know what you're missing. Just take a look at these shots from Brita Haapala. It's time you take a drive up to the tip of the Keweenaw to take in this area all covered in white. The lighthouse looks a bit more isolated out there with the ice between you and there, but it sure makes a scenic view. And what could be more fun than to cross country ski around Fort Wilkins and surrounding trails. We stopped here two weeks ago, with the Pasty Cam, but I forgot to mention the ski trail that takes you right through the Fort. So, if you're getting a bit of cabin fever and are looking for something to do in the snow... head North!

Brita, I love the photos on your blog....viewed a bunch of them but will have to make another 'visit'. You certainly have some beautiful 'in-home subjects'. Aliisa is sooo cute sitting in front of the mirror. Really like your scenic photos also, the "Loons-on-lake" looks like an oil painting. Beautiful! :)

I believe the mirror shot of the bady is the best photo ever! Also like the cabins at Fort Wilkins. I was there last September and found it to be more then I expected and a real value at $8 to entire. The knowledge gained was huge. I'm going to return this summer. Are those the original cabins? I like the hewn logs. Are they dove tailed on the ends? Really historical stuff there. I love Copper Harbor! We made it a point to eat everywhere when we stayed. Everybody was so nice and friendly.
