Quite a Tea Party in Massachusetts this week............ The "Awakening" has started....

We are thinking about coming up during mid-February. I have always wanted to see the Keweenaw in the snow season. Does anyone know the dates of the MTU Ice Festival? I would love to see the ice sculptures in person, if possible.

Good Morning! MTU's Winter Carnival is Feb 3 to 6. The All-Nighters will be built Wednesday night, Feb. 3. You would be very lucky to find a hotel or motel room anywhere in the vicinity, closer than say Baraga or Silver City, etc, anyway, during the actual Carnival time. Assuming the weather cooperates, which it usually does, you should be able to see the snow sculptures & statues for a couple of weeks after that, and you would also have a far easier time getting a hotel room and finding a seat in a restaurant to eat, etc. They usually don't bulldoze the statues, though, until spring break. One year, though the statues melted quickly, because the temperature got up in the 60's, if I remember correctly.
