Good Morning from Marquette, first Bird this year.

I view Pasty Central every day without fail for my UP fix. Todays pictures somehow seem to be especially good. I could feel the cold and wind off the lake. Those little kids didn't notice but I was playing hockey with them. The picture of the Portage Canal is wonderful. I was back home looking at it.

ICE BOUND! Maybe some have heard of the big ships stuck down this way on the St. Clair River, Lake St. Clair. US & Canadian cutters working steadily to cut thru the ice and get these guys out and going. For all you boat nerds here are a couple of pics of what is going on down this way. Helen Chamberlain forwarded me some pics from her friend of the massive ice down Algonac way. We got these at the little park near the end of our road just north of Marine City

Some excellent pictures of the ice bound ships, Russ.

Just a wee curiosity, though: I wonder where the extraneous "img11gbh" comes from that appears with both the successful uploads as well as the one failure? I've seen that sort of thing before, from time to time, but have never experienced it myself.
