The one title mentions the house is a Finlandia landmark. What is the significance of the building?

Brrr - it's cold here in Evergreen Colorado -5 degrees. People here can't understand why we bought a second home in upper Michigan because it is cold here and cold there. They all have places in Arizona to go to in the winter. We go to Eagle Harbor in the summer and stay in Colorado in the winter. They have never seen Lake Superior and they just don't get it. There is true magic in the lake. Maybe you have to grow up in the U.P. to get it. Thanks for giving me my lake fix (because there are always a few photos of the lake in the decade review) every day while I dream of summer.

Snow day!

Its been a great picture day all around. I have not left my house in days, and I always need a lake "fix" after being couped up for so long. I agree with Nancyd, I'm not from the UP but I to, trully believe there is something very special about that "big pond!!" I really enjoyed the pictures!!

Hello to all! I recently came upon this photo from 1983. It was taken in Gwinn. Does anybody remember it?

Barb that's a funny picture! Love it. How far is Jacobsville from Lake Linden? I started to go there several years ago when I was up there. Always seemed like a neat point in the area to see the waters. But was running low on gas so turned around. Next fall will try again but will be prepared :>) Are you by any chance the sister of my dear friend Idaho Lizzy?

By Jacobsville (Barb) on Friday, January 8, 2010 - 09:48 pm:

Kay, Jacobsville is 16 miles from Lake Linden. And no, I don't have any sisters living anymore. But what's interesting is that my younger sister's name was Kay.
