Coffee drinker isn't a description you often hear when someone is talking about a bird, but this Cockatiel that Brenda Leigh caught in the act, enjoys a nip every now and again. Take note in the second photo, that the mug the bird is drinking from, is actually a Navy cup, so he's quite the patriotic Cockatiel, supporting our military personnel like that. No wonder he's getting a pat on the head in that last photo! :->

Cockatiels are pretty smart birds. My Lutino Cockatiel, Baja, is 11 yrs. old. He is so sweet.

my moms last husband had a parakeet that use to sit on the side of your plate and have dinner with you. The little bird loved mashed potatos and chicken with jello and whip for desert, of course a sip of diet pop in between. On a visit I made taco salads and the bird had a taste and it was funny as all get up and go to see his beek covered with taco sauce. it was even funnier to see his beek covered with cool whip, too.

we had a bunch of cockateals. First had a male, then got a female, eggs started to appear that eventually hatched into 8 more.
We still have one of them which we always thought was a male, until after 8 years, eggs started appearing again ... now he's a she :)

Years ago my dad had a pet Canary that sat on the rim of his beer glass and partook as shown here. More then once it sipped so many times, got tipsy, fell in the glass, had to be carefully "bathed" then. It always survived it tho!

Go to www.helpgrowyoursoup.com/projects.aspx and vote for the The Bowers School Farm. The more votes will help get the money to re-do it. Give it a fresh coat of paint and things like that. Bowers is a fantastic place for kids and adults to visit. Thank You if you vote. You can vote once a day. ;O)

Does anybody remember the title of the Rock Hudson movie that had a parakeet that got drunk after sipping out of a champaign glass?
By Theresa R. Brunk (Trb0013) on Thursday, February 25, 2010 - 09:11 am:
Thanks Theresa. I laugh just thinking of the scene when the 2 high society ladies find the parakeet and he hiccups, and 1 says to the other in disgust, "He's drunk!"
