Yesterday I spoke of treasures in the eastern U.P. and today we head to the southern tip, in the Menominee area with Brenda Leigh. She did some exploring in the woods around where she lives and found some really unique sights on her journey, starting with this mirror standing up against a tree. What an interesting shot, looking down at the leaves all blanketing the ground, yet showing us the blue sky above and one single leaf still hanging on. Brenda aptly named it, "Reflections of a season passed."
First look at the next photo had me doing a double take. A bright yellow dandelion in the midst of all those dried leaves, this couldn't be a picture taken in the fall...but yes it absolutely is and Brenda said she figures it was Mother Nature playing a trick on us all, including the dandelion who thought it was summer again with the warmer temps and sprouted out to see. I like the last photo for the symbolism of the locker, the key and the leaf being locked inside. I wonder how many of us wish we could do just that to fall...capture that last leaf and hold on to it for awhile longer. Of course if you look real close, something else is in that locker, too. Not so sure I would like to open it up later and find its inhabitants. :->

On our visit yesterday to the doctors office here in Trenton we saw one Rose bush with at least 25 large flowers blooming on it. Mine were cut down at least a month ago but we have had a week of temperatures about 65 degrees. As usual the elusive camera was left at home.

We've had a beautiful Easter lily blooming outside our church recently!

Maybe an Easter Lilly blooming in a Church yard represents some hopeful inspiration.

That mirror made me do a double take. As far as the dandelion, Mary, Spring and summer were pretty slow this year.

I will get to plant flowers in the spring when we move to Lake Linden. I will love that. Where we live now, they do not want you to even have some flowers in pots out front. So I am looking forward to planting flowers.;O)

When I saw the picture of the mirror leaning against a tree, I did a double-take. Did someone come in my yard and take a picture? I happen to have one on the North Side of my home to reflect the sun into my sometimes gloomy kitchen. When the sun hits it at the right angle, it's as if floodlights are turned on and shining in my window. I live in the country outside of Houghton. By the way, my first name also happens to be "Brenda" :)

At least the hornet's nest in the last photo was empty, that could have been a very rude surprise! The photos are great and imaginative.
