Youngsters always have so much expendable energy, if we could only harness it! Amy Cloutier captured the energy of her niece and nephews, by offering to snap some pictures if they raked their backyard. They seem to be enjoying the job and even look like they're approaching the job with some Yooper gusto! Doesn't it make you wonder when youngsters lose that exuberance for helping and doing their chores?

Amy's last photo of the three kids is my favorite. One of those priceless moments when you catch the essence of being a kid in the U.P.... laughter, smiles and sheer joy!

Putting off till tomorrow what you can do today...What's the urgency? Put it off at least a week! And when it's done, have fun!!

Hey! Those are my cousin's kids! Aren't they cute????? The litttle boy on the right looks just like my cousin did when he was young. Nice job, Amy!!!! I remember the fun we had come leaf season.

How neat is that? If they can do it, so can I.
Wonderful pics, thanks. Nice weekend to all.

Too many years ago, my mom helped us and a bunch of us neighbor kids made dummies out of old clothes and stuffed them with leaves. To this day, when I smell fall leaves, I think of those dummies and the fun we had that sunny, fall day.

Those kids are the Incredables from Halloween last week!

One of my many favorite aromas is the smell of dry leaves in Autumn! My sisters and I often enjoyed them like the youngsters in the last photo, but weren't too anxious to partake in the raking.:) Oh, the simple joys of childhood!

We have two grandsons 8 & 10 coming over later today for their annual leaf raking and picture taking of them being burried in them. Have already sent off 12 bags to the landfill.

GO LAKES, and a good weekend to all.

Extremely cute kids, so cute, it almost hurts to look at them! Shirley, I know what you mean about the aroma of leaves in autumn. There's also something special about the crisp air and the quality of light (color? brightness?) at this time of year. Everything seems to be washed gently in subtle golds. Hard to explain, but maybe you all understand. It's my favorite time.

Todays photos are just perfect. On a sad day , when i was thinking about the shootings at Fort Hood and wondering just what would drive a person to cause so much pain and heartache instead of wanting to funnel his energies for good,pasty.net opened up a world of laughing children .Here's to HOPE......

Lisa, I know this is a day late, but your post reminded me of my favorite poem....."October's Bright Blue Weather". If you've heard of it, you know what I mean, but if you haven't, I'll be glad to send it to you. :) Not sure about the rest of you folks, but I often come back to read past Cam Notes, so thought you, Lisa, might see this.

"I often come back to read past Cam Notes"

Just a hint:

If everyone would just bookmark this "New Messages" page, and always use that page for each visit, with the Messages since I last checked for new messages radio button on, and your User Name and Password entered in the applicable places, then you will always see every new message on either Cam Notes or What's UP, regardless of which day's discussion they were posted on.

The only issue is whether you have seen the message or not!

When you do so, the display you'll see will look like so:

Results of Search

Then just click on the message header of each message that you wish to read.

No more missed messages! Regardless of whether they were posted on one of yesterday's discussion topics. or last week's, last month's, etc. Easy!

(The only way you can "miss" a message, is if you fail to click on the applicable "new" message header as shown in the list.)

Mary says: On the Pasty Cam page, you can also check for new messages in the last 24 hours, by clicking on the link that's marked with a red arrow in the screenshot here below:

Thanks, FRNash, I just bookmarked it! I was aware of the 'page' but had forgotten about it. Thanks again for the reminder.:)
