Death Is Not an End
Understand that death is not an end, but a beginning; not a horror, but a joy. It is not a closing down, but an opening up.
The happiest moment of your life will be the moment it ends.
That's because it doesn't end but only goes on in ways so magnificent, so full of peace and wisdom and joy, as to make it difficult to describe and impossible for you to comprehend.

Thanks Mary for including my Aunt Dorothy in today's memory. She would have loved this sunset for sure. I'm sure she's with her brothers and sisters right now sitting on that porch at the cottage drinking coffee and sipping some of brother Frank's homemade wine looking out over Bete Gris. I know, next time I'm up there... that'll be my tribute to her ;o)

By Cindy, New Baltimore, MI (Cindy) on Saturday, October 31, 2009 - 11:22 am:
Thanks for using my sunset picture today, Mary. I remember clearly taking that photo in October of 2006. We had just left Whitefish Point after a full day enjoying the fall colors and were on our way back to our motel in Newberry. I just happened to turn my head around in the car when I saw that gorgeous sky. It took my breath away! I told my husband to stop the car immediately, and I jumped out to take a single shot of the most gorgeous colors that seemed to appear out of nowhere. If I hadn't turned around, I would have missed it entirely. It seems appropriate today, when we are remembering those that have gone before us, to remind ourselves to be aware of the little things in life that can so easily pass us by unnoticed. None of us know how many chances we will have left to enjoy them.

Back in the late 60s, "Joe" Ricci was my foreman at P&H in Escanaba. A really nice guy! He used to call me his Copper Country buddy. He once asked me "When was the last time we had a good 3 day CC blizzard?" It happened a coupla years later. Took me over 6 hours just to get to Cornell from the plant. Holy Wah!

Hi..I get daily emails from the Neale Donald Walsch website and figured some of them deserved to be shared! Blessings to all...
My first time to send a you a message. The lovely sunset made me think of a special friend who passed away Oct. 31,2005. It was Hilia Reini, a resident of Tamarack City, at portage Health System. Born April 16, 1919, in Quincy Location a daughter of the late August and Betty(Fiske)Reini. Hila graduated from Hancock High the class of 1938. Ms. Reini was a proud veteran having served with the US Navy and US Naval Reserve for 20 yrs. Professionally she worked at Michigan Teck as an exec. Secretary. She loved her many animals and regularly fed the pigions on Quincy Hill. Her saying" This too shall pass" was who she was. My prayers and thoughts are still with you Hilia........
