I grew up going out to our cousin's camp on Mud Lake. That's the Mud Lake here in Houghton County, near Lake Linden. So I was actually kind of surprised when I learned there are several other Mud Lakes around, located in Keweenaw County, in the Eagle Harbor/Copper Harbor area. There's actually one near Delaware and another near Fort Wilkins in Copper Harbor, so I'm not positive which one this is here, that Steve Brimm snapped a shot of. Wherever it is in the Keweenaw, it's a beauty all decked out with fall colors.

Beautiful photo, as always from Steve. However, it doesn't appear to be very muddy to me. Maybe some unfortunate soul stepped in and found the bottom to be mud. I read that Long Lake is the most common name for lakes. Sharing the same name, I'm wondering when I am going to start receiving the residual checks.

Thanks Steve for sharing. When I get back home, the leaves will be all gone. It is through the wonderful Yoopers there that I can be in the UP via the internet! Thanks!

I don't think this is the one out in Bootjack...the land was much flatter in that area. Beautiful picture tho!

Good Morning, one and all!!
If I had to guess, I would say this is the small lake/mudhole on the right just before you get to Lake Bailey on 26 if your heading east toward Copper Harbour.

I learned while working in Minnesota, that every county but one has a Mud Lake. Regardless, I would rather be at the Mud lake pictured than in the office today.

It would be really great if the bridge cam were back up and running. I always enjoy watching the seasons change in that view.
The Mud Lake view, of course, is spectacular, too!
