A group of our friends had a 4 wheeling excursion planned months in advance for this past Saturday. We figured it would be a great way to get out into the woods and see the colors first hand. We saw colors all right, starting with white! It began snowing almost as soon as we arrived in Twin Lakes, but had let up a bit by the time we set out, dressed for the cold and wet. It sure made for some beautiful scenery with the sun shining on the bright white snow and highlighting the colors in the trees. We made a loop up around to Ahlston and back by way of the Firesteel Bridge, which to my surprise is actually THREE bridges in a row. That's my hubby Jim walking out onto one of the bridges, giving you a bit of a perspective of how big these bridges really are. Then a shot of the river below and the colors around it. There seemed to be more yellows and muted oranges, nothing overly bright in this spot, but still it was a sight from that high vantage point. The last picture was our 4 wheeling crew, taking a snack break between the last two bridges. Lots of good scenery, company and fun.

Those were your pictures, Mary! I wondered if they were. Looks like a good time was had by all! Me? I'm not into getting dirty OR wet, lol!!!

Mary my hubby and I share your idea of fun with ATV's too! Good times indeed! I would rather be doing that than going to work today, tomorrow...
