The U.P. Digitization Center hits another home run preserving the colorful history of the U.P. (in black and white, no less) with this century old photo from the Iron Mountain area. These are actually a group of prominent business and professional men who comprised the clown baseball team 100 summers ago. We thought it would be appropriate as the current season comes to a close, leading toward the world series (did anybody hear how the Tigers did?)
Edie and I are on our way downstate this morning on a trip to a class reunion. Somehow this photo captures the feeling of uncertainty about what we might see when the old crowd of classmates get together. After all, it's been almost forty years.
This morning's Day in History was especially fun to do, as we spent the night in St. Ignace, right between two of the settlements mentioned in our daily one minute glimpse of U.P. history.
Historic picture. I also want 2 wish my birth mother a Happy Birthday, today.

A fun picture from the past this morning, Charlie! Especially like the gent on the left end in the bonnet! Hope you and Edie have a wonderful trip and enjoy the gathering of classmates. I haven't been to a class reunion in 35 years (from high school class of '54)! No telling what I'd encounter.:] God bless all on this beautiful Autumn day!

To answer your question Charlie; I wish the Tigers would quit "clowning" around and win the AL Central, instead of handing it to the Twins like they appear to be doing......

Deepest sympathy on your double loss, Janie...
Mary says: I tried emailing you, but your domain rejected it. If you email me (mdrew@pasty.com) the names of your brother-in-law and Mother, I'd be happy to include them in the end of the month memorial. Again, my sympathies to you and your family.

Thankyou all for your kindness and prayers! It's been said that life never deals out more than one can handle..I'm about to find out. It does bring much comfort to me knowing mom and dad are together once again. Thankyou all again for your support! Janie
