Any day UP North, that can be spent relaxing near the water can be considered one of the best. But when you add in a fishing pole and the evening sun setting over your fishing hole, well...it doesn't get much better than this. George Hoyem captured in his photos today, the essence of what I'm trying to express in words. That golden sunset reflecting on the lake, along with the pink of the sunset reflecting on the clouds, evoke a feeling of delight and complete bliss. What I wouldn't give to be sitting right there, in either of those photos at this very moment!
Don't forget, today is Patriot Day. Take a few moments and remember the people who lost their lives in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. In their memory, we're asked to fly our flags at half-mast and observe a moment of silence at 8:46 A.M., the time of the first plane crash on this day in 2001.

By the way, the photographs are beautiful and I especially like the one of a cumulonimbus caught by the last red light of the sun.

Today's Affirmation We are filled with gratitude and hope as we remember.
Today's Meditation Dear God,
We have not forgotten the events of September 11, 2001 or the many people who have served all around the globe since that day. We share the sorrow of everyone who has lost someone they loved to war and terrorism. Bring us all a sense of comfort without bitterness. Together, we yearn for that day when all people will have learned that we are all sisters and brothers in You. Teach us how to see the wonder in each other. Lift us above our fears and fighting and into Your radiance. Show us how to open our hands and hearts in peace and friendship. We are willing to be peacemakers and we are willing to be peace filled. Amen
Uncle Chuck, I'd take a sunrise over Lac La Belle also! Only I'd have a maxwell house coffee in one hand and the pole in the other!

Wow! Those clouds are beautiful. Sometimes I ask my kids what colors they would need to paint that picture. Makes you stop and think about it, doesn't it. Have a good day anyway.

As suggested, the discussion on the terrorist attacks 8 years ago, has been moved to another page, under "Various Topics." You can find it here: 8th Anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on America
REMEMBER: Keep it civil, keep it friendly...thank you!
