The usual views of Mount Bohemia are of course primarily taken in the winter months, either that or they're taken from further away, so when I spotted this top shot from Lisa Normand, I had to share it today. Lisa is standing by the Lac La Belle Resort to snap this and it's the perfect angle to show you where the trees have been cleared out to accommodate the ski runs on that side of the Mountain. With the water looking so blue and the trees so green, it's quite the inviting shot!

As I looked around the Pasty Guest Gallery Albums at little more, I came across a similar photo of Mount Bohemia in Brita Haapala's gallery album. Brita took her photo from a different angle, where you can see a couple of the other ski runs. They aren't standing out so distinctly, perhaps because there aren't as many trees cut out for these runs on this side, versus on the other face of the mountain. I'm just guessing though, because I have zero experience skiing that hill and I don't intend to change that in my lifetime. ;->

Mary, you might think some more on that hill. Adventure is a human need. We recognize it as the daring thing which makes us bigger than ourselves...

I love the second picture.

I suddenly have a taste for a walleye shore lunch.

That is a very pretty area. I will stay with Mary at the bottom of the hill where its safe. I have only downhill skiid once and was taken down by a little kid on a towrope and decided it was in everybodies best interest if I stay out of that sport.

nice pictures again today. It is ironic that the summer we never had here in the Monroe area is ending on a bang with 80° days with not a cloud in sight. What the heck, maybe I will go out pond fishing today.

Mary, thanks for choosing those pic's today, they are terrific! Lac La Belle is one of my favorite spots in the whole U.P., I could live there one day. It's lunch time and I wish I was sitting at the "Bear Belly Bar & Grill" eating a Keweenaw Melt w/fries and a diet Coke, shooting the breeze wtith Troy & Cathy or Dave or Bud or Mrs. Anderson, or any of the other fine folks there. Great Place!

Brother Mike and I are planning a quick trip U.P. leaving this Sunday for a few days, we will be stopping at beautiful Lac La Belle.

Mike has skied the Mountain, Im with Mary and Brooke, I'll wait at the bottom too. Marty sez he's gonna drive the 4x4 up the face of the Mt., here again, I'll be waiting at the bottom when he & truck come rolling down! lol

ski adage. I Never go skiing as there are ambulances parked at the bottom of the hill.

On a snowmobile vacation, hubby and I were sitting at the resort on our sleds watching snowmobilers hill climb Mt. Bohemia. Some made it up, others about half way until their sleds would roll over and over back down. I'm sure the sleds that didn't make it up were destroyed by the time they were at the bottom.
