Bob Whitlatch is a serious biker and he loves the U.P. He recently drove 700 miles from his hometown in Ohio, to visit the Keweenaw for the weekend, before heading back to Ohio again. While here he toured around with his bike and took one of the scenic routes along Lake Superior, from Gay to Lac La Belle. Somewhere along that stretch of road, he snapped the first two shots here today. The beauty of a Lake Superior shoreline view is hard to beat, but the rocks with the waves washing over them is a classic Big Lake scene, too.

Then his Harley took him to Calumet where attended Pasty Fest. He ran into the little guy in the third photo, along with his grandpa, who asked Bob, "OK if he sits on your bike?" After settling him in the drivers seat, he looked at Bob and commented, "The kid has potential." Looks to me like he has a Harley in his future!

Now back at home, Bob's already dreaming of his next trip UP North, hoping it can happen once more this summer. But if not this year, he says he'll be back again next summer for sure. See you then!
