Like so many Fourth of July evenings before, our family spent last night in Copper Harbor enjoying the fireworks and seeing so many of our friends here in the Keweenaw. It has to be the busiest few hours of the year, as the small village has wall-to-wall visitors there to see the spectacle. There were some new style fireworks like we've never seen before, with brilliant effects that lit up the sky over the northernmost town in Michigan.

It reminded me of the scene above, which first appeared on the Pasty Cam back in 2001. This picture appeared in the 2002 Pasty Cam Color Calender... which reminds me... we need to be selecting shots for the 2010 calendar, so they can be ready to deliver with pasty orders, when we resume shipping in September. If you have the 2009 Pasty Cam Calendar on your wall like we do, for July you are enjoying a wonderful birds-eye view of Mackinac Island by pilot/photographer Neil Harri (who happened to do ALL of the pictures for this year's calendar). Stay tuned in the days ahead, and we'll come up with a way of selecting favorite Pasty Cam shots for next year's publication.

Spectacular! I watched the Harbor Springs fireworks from the end of the city dock. If I'd sprung to my feet in joy I would have landed inthe water.

Since the subject of the 2010 calender has been brought up, I would like to suggest the publication of a "Page-A-Day" calender. I know I would get one for my desk and I am sure many other people would want one as well.

WOW! Those are great! We really had a nice display last night too. We watched them from my son's place in town. He has a great view of them and we didn't have to fight the traffic to get out. I love the 4th of July. Thanks for the great picture.

I'm a latecomer, but I agree about Linda's page-a-day calendar idea. There are so many great pics of the U.P., it would be a great way to showcase them without having to choose just 12.
