The past few days the temperatures have been quite summerlike, with sunshine, heat and humidity, too. Here in the Keweenaw there's only one way to beat the heat... head to the shores of Lake Superior. That's just what we're doing today, thanks to three Pasty Camists, who all took photos of one of the many ways to cool off with the help of the Big Lake.

Cindy Freeman captured this colorful shot of kayakers, right outside the Harbor Haus Restaurant in Copper Harbor. You can just see the lighthouse in the upper right corner of the photo, too. The kayaking cutie in the second photo was snapped by David Roberts. I'm going to take a guess here and say that this is David's Granddaughter, the same young lady that appeared with her Dad at Bond Falls, back on May 13th.

Then in the last photo we get to see Zach's technique as he maneuvers his kayak on the shallow shores of Superior. This one was taken by Zach's Grandma, Deb Simons, on a previous visit to the Keweenaw. Kayaking is a good way to beat the heat and if you're careful you can do it without even getting wet! :->

Cool! Zachery will be happy to see his picture up there. He loves kayaking but hasn't quite gotten it mastered yet. It's been so hot out here, a quick jump in the lake is just what the doctor ordered.

It is a lot of fun, and a lot easier than you would think.

Ohhh colorful pictures today ! I love them. That is one of my favorite spots! You can take a nice drive to the Harbor Haus, enjoy food to match any in the country -sooooogood-always- and then relax and enjoy the scenery. The best!

Can't wait to get the boat on the water and get out to Keystone Bay and then to Manitou Island, maybe a trip around the point to Copper Harbor for dinner at the Harbor Haus.

Best part of being at the lake when it's hot IS getting wet.........:o)
