Tomorrow is Flag Day, commemorating the adoption of the use of the United States Flag. So, I thought these photos today from Donna MacIntosh and myself, would be a nice choice since they display our national red, white and blue symbol. This memorial is located on U.S. 41, just north of Baraga, on a little roadside turn-off. It was placed there by the American Legion Foucault-Funke Post 444 from Baraga, to honor Comrades who were lost at sea during their valiant defense of our country. I can't think of a more perfect way to honor the service of these men and women, than to have a spot on the shores of Lake Superior like this, where the sunrise brightens the flags placed there (in Donna's top photo) and the waves splash into shore (in the middle photo).

Greetings from the City of Champions - PITTSBURGH! It was a great day for hockey yesterday as the Penquins won the Stanley Cup!

My father, Robert Bergdahl (lived in Chassell) was a great Penquins fan having lived in Pittsburgh for many years and unfortunately passed away in 1990 - since then they won the cup twice in the 90's and now this one - and he would have loved it!

What a great day in Pittsburgh!

the RED WINGS have integrity! no other NHL team can say this. each and everyone of their players exemplifies this attribute. they are true gentlemen. that is why the "cream" of hockey players are always so proud to become a member of the Red Wings.

As a very loyal and proud Red Wings fan, let me congratulate the Penguins and their fans. The Stanley stands alone as the most prestigious award in professional sports.
That being said, Edith you are so right. The professionalism and class of our Wings is unmatched.
