Brenda Leigh uploaded these beautiful Columbine photos and then proceeded to tell me the story of how they came about and why the flower means so much to her.
"This flower will always be special to me. The seeds were given to me by my 96 year old friend from the Soo. I placed them in the ground four years ago. Nothing ever became of them and I just figured they went bad. Then VOILA they just appeared out of nowhere. Patience is a virtue! Now, each morning when I go outside I check the two plants out, think of my friend and how in many years down the road I will always have something living that is part of him."
I like that these flowers symbolize more than just the outward beauty you can see in them, but also for the reminder of someone who's touched Brenda's life. Hopefully, now that they've finally started growing for Brenda, they'll keep coming up each year.
In case you're wondering about the background of the third Columbine photo (like I was), Brenda explained that she actually laid down on the ground for that shot, looking up toward the sky and an amazing color of blue.
