What better way to celebrate a spring day, than a friendly game of back yard football between the little guys and the big guys. Kassy Beaudoin recently snapped some shots at a friend's gathering to celebrate their son's birthday, where the challenge began. There's definitely some serious competition going on here with the Dad's giving the young guys a good run at the sport. No matter who won the game, it was definitely some memory making times for the youngsters, as well as the grown-up guys, too.

That last photo is Kassy and Roger's little one, Will, who was all smiles on the sidelines, cheering them on. Just wait a few years and he'll be out there blocking and running, too!

He can't wait until he's big enough to play.

Great photos!! Family time together creating life long memories for the adults and children to reflect on when they are old. Photos like these help remind the young and the old of a great time together! Thanks Kassy for bringing back memories of a few family times with my deceased father and with my now adult children. Time flies so quickly; we need to enjoy times like these when we can.

This is the coldest Spring we can remember in our 21 years living year-round in the Copper Country. Lately it has felt more like Autumn, which no doubt stokes the urge to play football.

Charley i agree with you, this is our coldest spring (Detroit area)in my 71 years.....wind and cold every day for March, April, May and now is 56° on June 2.

" our coldest spring … in 71 years … now is 56° on June 2."

Yep, Global Warming, doncha know!

I was thinking the same. Here in Tennessee where I lived for the past six years this Spring has been the coolest I have seen.

Little Will in the stripes could be the Referee. I hope the Ref's for the hockey game tonight will let them play like the last game. Go Red Wings.

It has been unusually cool in the Muskegon area, too. But it has also been the most awesome year I can remember for the flowers on the trees. I've never seen them so full, so richly colored, and so long lasting. Might be the temperature, might also be plenty of rain. Has anyone else noticed this? As Charlie says, the temperature makes you want to play football, but it's an odd sensation when you're looking at a blossoming tree.

As far as cool weather goes, remember the Yooper saying; "If it's above 30°, it's gotta be summer!"

around 1945 or 1946, it snowed with 2 inches on the ground in calumet !!!

global warming brings extremes in weather.

By David Hiltunen (Davidcorrytontn) on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 - 06:05 pm:

As would global cooling. For every action there is a equal and opposite reaction.
