Back in the summer of '99 we started a tradition here on the Pasty Cam, taking time at the end of each month to honor and remember friends who have passed on. We do so with a scene of some heavenly beauty from this corner of the world. The following names are offered to begin another month's tribute, and we welcome you to add others.
Muriel Baril David Mark Gockenbach Rebecca Lynn Gray Violet Johnson Miller Alex Ollila Servicemen and women who gave their all
Of particular note is the wife of the artist who provided today's memorable photo of Copper Harbor, first appearing on these pages back in May of 2000. Steve Brimm's beloved Rebecca Lynn Gray passed away earlier this month following a courageous battle with brain cancer. Our condolences to all who have recently lost loved ones, along with wishes that you will find 'peace that passes understanding'.

Oh yeah, remembering my dad, Ben Durocher. He would have been 82 yesterday. It was a rough day. Time does help, but every little thing makes me remember and be sad. I hope that some day I will only remember him with a smile rather than with tears.
Also remembering my Aunt, Dorothy Crouch. She died in May, right before Mother's Day but I'm not sure of the year. I'm sure it's a rough time for my cousins too.
Also remembering my grandmother, Eva Durocher, who died in May of 1972, a month and a half before my first child was born. She so wanted to live long enough to see him. What a tough time that was. She was such a great grandmother. Now my dad and Aunt Frieda have joined her. I can only hope that this year we don't lose anybody.

Rest peacefully Daddy.I'm still listening with my heart & feeling your love all around me.

In memory of my Son, Glenn Kijak, who would have been 26 on May 16th this year. This picture really touched me since he passed away at High Rock Bay at the tip of the Keweenaw. The rainbow looks like a stairway he would have taken to Heaven. Beautiful Picture.

Nature’s Rainbow
You held her in your arms
for days, weeks, and years.
Now hold her in your sweetest heart
and cry those heavy tears.
The bonds that you share with her,
eternally precious and strong,
are in your soul forever;
to support you now life long.
She’ll always be inside you
a shining light of gold
Her love, her words, her children,
are celebrations that you hold.
If you open to the knowledge
that she’s not completely gone,
You’ll sometimes feel her presence
encouraging you to stay strong.
When she shows you nature’s rainbows
you’ll feel her proud delight,
Sending signs to show she’s living
just beyond your sight.
Beyond the rainbow’s end
she lives in love and light,
Sending peace and strength to you
from just beyond your sight.
In Loving Memory of Sandy Braspenick who passed away Monday of this week. Just 2 days later a brilliant rainbow appeared in Wakefield even though it hadn't rained.
