Please allow me to hijack our weekly Shoebox Memory feature to share some memories being created real-time. As you know if you've followed the Pasty Cam over the past decade+, this daily update originates from Eagle River, Michigan. There a girl named Becky grew up in the late 1900's, and at the turn of the century she married a guy from Hancock, Bryan Howard. They started life together in married housing at Michigan Tech. When Pasty Central needed a phone receptionist to process our pasty orders, Becky agreed to take on the job. (After all, it was her dad doing the asking). As Bryan continued his academic pursuits, Becky served in her role as the Pasty Girl.
Fast forward to a home in Utah in 2008 (with two yoopers missin' the U.P.) There Dr. Bryan and Becky settled into work-life and mom-life respectively. Kira came along about 8 months ago, keeping Becky busy, and providing Grandma and Grandpa with a delightful family journal of her growing up.
Becky and Kira
We want to send out a Happy Mother's Day to Mom's everywhere, whether it's your first as a mother (like Becky), or whether you've had dozens before. I hope your grateful kids sent you a dozen pasties (or some other appropriate expression of their gratitude) and that you have many more Happy Mother's Days surrounded by your thankful children.
Have a good week :o)
