The sounds of springtime in the country vary from geese honking overhead once again, to dirt bikes and four wheelers revving up to ride. Today's photos from Kassy Beaudoin, give us a good glimpse into the fun that can be had when the family gets together to enjoy the Copper Country outdoors on wheels. That first little rider, is Hayley (Kassy and Roger's daughter), getting ready to tear across Grandpa's field. Kassy tells me that Hayley just loves her dirt bike, but Daddy won't let her out of second gear yet, for safety sake. In the second photo, it looks like Grandpa Lawrence is already having to take a back seat when Hayley jumps on the four wheeler with him, too.

Of course there's always going to be at least one "stuck" when you're out ATV'ing and it usually happens without warning. Kassy said the ground underneath was still soft from having been dug up last fall for a water line, so it took only 10 seconds to bury the side-by-side. That's Becky Alger, looking a bit surprised that it happened so quickly and is buried up to the wheels! :-> But never fear, trusty John Deere comes to the rescue. With Brian and Roger at the controls, they had it pulled out in a jiffy and ready for more action. Good old fashioned fun on the farm!

My cousin did that once with me on the back of the ATV, but he decided to go through a foot of water and get stuck in the middle. We had to get my uncle and the tractor, got there pretty muddy.

That's a sweet little granddaughter you have there. Have a nice day.

I've done the same thing with a tractor. Every now and then in a dry year the sugar beet roots would grow down and plug a drainage tile so you ended up with a soft spot there the following spring. You couldn't always tell that you were coming up on a spot like that, because there wasn't always standing water on the surface. But you drive into it and the next thing you know the tractor is sitting on the frame, the tires 3 feet deep in the mud. Not a lot of fun!

This is why I don't like ATVs trespassing on our land! When the weather warms up and the grasses grow, it's easy to trip in the ruts you can't see.
Please, ATVers, observe no trespassing signs!!!!

I so love my dirtbike, I wish I had land like this to just ride on. I mainly ride it on the trails around here in Atlantic Mine which does get boring. I want an open area where I can just tear across the land and have fun and get muddy too lol And yes, the no trespassing signs should be observed.
