The end of March already, which means that it's time to pause for our remembrance of those that have left us, but remain in our hearts and memories. Today we recall:

If you heard Tuesday's Day in History you know that today is Gordy Howe's birthday. Gordy's wife Colleen passed away earlier this month. She was officially known as "Mrs. Hockey". Next month they would have celebrated their 56th anniversary.

Remembering Gene Moran, husband of Marion Moran. She is a longtime instructor at The Clearing in Ellison Bay in Door County Wisconsin. A quiet man who supported his wife in her sharing of God's wonders and the Native American's spiritual life. Peace my friend.

Remembering my aunt, Freida Durocher-Guilbault, who lived life to the fullest and encouraged everybody she knew to do the same. She is so missed.
Remembering my dad, Ben Durocher, who would have been married 58 years today. He is also missed!

Remembering Walter Sauerman, Ed (E. T.) Williams, and William “The Senator” Hodge, the last of the three St Patrick’s Day birthday boys who died at the age of 90 in December. Remembering also Beverly Eaton and Maud Pruner who died in March, 2007. Finally Grace Camille Brown who would have turned 55 this month, gone since 1997. Remembering you all today with great affection.

Remembering my cousin "Bridget" (Margaret McCloskey), 63, of Altoona, WI who passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2009 with her special friends, Ralph and Lucy Coushman at her side. She was the daughter of Margaret (Plautz) and William McCloskey.

Bridget loved to read, watch old movies, play dominoes,dine at great restaurants and visit with family in the U.P. She loved her trips to Calumet and Copper Harbor and would write the most wonderful family letters to us all. She will be dearly missed.

I would like to add Charles (Chuck)David Erickson, Dickinson County Road Commission Chair, who passed away on Wednesday, March 18th, 2009 at his home. He not only represented my home county, but he represented the citizens of the whole Upper Peninsula throughout his time serving on the County Road Association of Michigan Board of Directors. Chuck Erickson was one of the longest seated commissioners in the state of Michigan; he served for more then thirty-two years. He will be greatly missed.

Remembering my dear friend Melissa, who passed away on March 20. She will be missed by many people. To her family: You are in my and my family's thoughts and prayers.

Nita Budweg....Everyone knew her...and everyone loved her! Miss you Nita! You were one of the very best!!!

I would like to add my brother John Spellich Jr. who passed away Feb 28th in Munith,Mi. He will be missed. I know he and his wife Dolly, shared a happy reunion.

Remembering my cousin, Paul DeWeirdt and dear friend, Marge Lang who both passed away on Sunday, March 29th. Both will be missed by many.
As always remembering my son, Andy, who will be gone 10 years on April 2nd.

Remembering my brother Edward L. Kolka killed in action March 2,1968 in Vietnam. May we never forget the brave men and women who have given their lives so we could be free. I love and miss you Ed.

Can't think of anyone in our familys that passed on in March but for some reason remember several of our old Citizens Band (CB) amateur radio friends passed on in March. Dave H. probably remembers them too

Remembering my Dad, Leonard E. Schwartz, passed March 25, 1981. Also Mr. Paul Harvey. Also the 4 young people who were killed by a drunk driver in Roseville.

My friend Peggy Jones that passed away last night.She will be missed.

Remembering my Aunt Vi (Luttinen) Pihlaja (my dad's sister-in-law) and Uncle Ed Saaranen (my dad's brother-in-law) who both passed away in the same week this March.

Remembering my dad, Joseph Paskvan, who died 14 years ago. Still missed.

In memory of my brother Bob Peterson who passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 28th, 2009 off the coast of South Carolina. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Especially his nephews Tim, Joe and Jeremy.

Remembering 4 young people, Ericka, Stephanie, Jordan, and Devon, who were killed by a drunk driver this month. DON'T DRINK and DRIVE!

Remembering Bobbie Peterson. Gone to soon from this earth. North Superior Road won't be the same without you. Good Bye my friend.

Remembering Jan Genereaux. She and her husband Gary, one of my best boyhood friends, stood up for our wedding 49 years ago (April 13) and we stood up for theirs. Just found out today she passed away 2 weeks ago, so one in March now to remember.
We haven't been in contact with them much in recent years but so sad nevertheless.

The young kids mentioned above is especially disheartening to us as all our kids went to the same school as they did.
Every serious accident I've been in or seen where someone was killed or maimed, drinking was involved!

Remembering my Grandpa Verne Rowe who passed 4 years ago on March 26th. We miss you!
