"Good-morning, and day light in the swamp!" Imagine waking up in the early hours of july to the smell of bacon and slimy-peppery eggs yet knowing that once you are full, the lawnmower and field of 2 ft deep grass awaited you... In response to the posting from "unclechuck" yesterday, i had to add my personal story of my grandpa. He was definitely a die-hard pasty.com viewer evidenced by his 2, not 1, shortcuts on his laptop-desktop that I used over the past week. His love for the UP/Keweenaw was definitely passed on in his "legacy" (word used by his florida minister) of grand-kids and will be passed on even further in the near future to his great-grandchildren. Learning to drive on the roads of the keweenaw at an early age is probably my favorite memory of my grandfather, even when he was yelling at me between sips of diet-pepsi (without a straw) to quit riding the brakes around the corners. After he would get done yelling, he would suggest a ride to the Jam Pot for a cookie en route to jim's pizza in calumet for pepperoni pizza. Again he will definitely be missed but his legacy will continue, so if your driving between Gay and Lac La Belle, stop by the Paulson spot at Little Betsy. There more than likely will be someone sitting on the drive way in a lawn chair, "opening a keg of nails" (having a conversation). Thank you once again for the support towards our family and look forward to further discussions in the near future!
