Good Morning! I agree on the last picture, Uncle Chuck, but I also love the one from 2007, with the sauna rocks on the lakeshore! My husband would like the one, "Last Place on Earth", but if you're going from that standpoint, I love the sign in Copper Harbor, that says 1990 (miles) to Miami, FL, ie, the beginning of US 41. I'd post a picture of it, but I don't remember how to post a picture within a post, or where to find the instructions. :-)

Uncle Chuck@Little Betsy, brother Mike and I and our whole family would like to request prayers for dad - Grandpa Norm. Grandpa Norm had knee replacement surgery on January 27 down in FL where he is for the winter. This past Tuesday he had a massive heart attack and his kidney's have stopped working. Grandpa Norm is 83 years young. He is now out of ICU and in the cardiac unit. Please pray that he keeps progressing. We would greatly appreciate all the prayers.

Aahhh, thank you, Capt Paul! I knew it was somewhere, but that was a couple of hard drives ago, so I had lost the Bookmark for it. :-)
Norma, our thoughts and prayers are with Grandpa Norm, Uncle Chuck, brother Mike, and you, and your whole family! Tell him that the power of Pasty is behind him! Take care!

We have a picture of the Miami 1990 mileage sign that was located past the Mariner almost directly across the lake from the Copper Harbor Lighthouse, I believe it was stolen we heard one of the last times we were UP there. We had our picture taken with our snowmobiles next to it.
Is it something like this?
My Aunt Bea, as seen several years ago on the Pasty Cam... Charlie
Just said a prayer for Grandpa Norm & his family. Hope he keeps up the fight.

That's interesting, Janie. I know the sign was there when we were there in late June, 2007, and I thought it was there when we were there in early May 2008. I wonder if it has been replaced, if it disappeared, or what?

Yes Charlie that was the sign!!! It was beyond Fort Wilkins, on the road to Sharon Smith's home?
By Uncle Chuck @ Little Betsy (Unclechuck) on Monday, February 16, 2009 - 04:45 pm:
Thanks everybody! Not ready for dad (Grampa Norm) to join my mom yet, there's lots more trips to take with Marty and Me, more 4X4 trails to explore and more Nippa stoves to heat up to keep him warm, let alone his legendary one liners, lol, thanks again pasty camers for your prayers and well wishes, we sure appreciate it!
Thank you, Charlie, I don't ever remember seeing that sign, for some reason, so I didn't know there were two Miami, FL 1990 miles signs. That's interesting! (And yes, we have been out that far, and beyond.) So that is out, past Fort Wilkins State Park, a little bit? Is/was it just at the end of the paved road of US 41, or something?

The original "MIAMI FLA 1990" sign was at the turn-around at the very end of US-41. They probably thought it was missing some of the traffic by being so far out, and it was moved to the intersection with M-26.
By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 - 05:25 pm:
Thank you, Charlie! We've been out farther than that turn-around, but I must have been looking down rather up, while my son was driving, or something. :-)
