The end of the month is upon us once again and we take this last day of the month to pause and remember those that have gone on before us from this world:
John Buckett Lawrence "Jack" Kiilunen Norman Paulson Joseph Persha Richard Scott Service men and women who've given their all
As is our tradition, we invite you to add the names of loved ones and friends that you'd like to hold in memory. Special thanks to Donna MacIntosh for the glowing sunrise to help us pause and remember.

Well folks, I'm still remembering my dad. Can't forget him and don't want to. I hope he's bowling and playing ball and is able to fish. It had been so long since he enjoyed anything like that.
Also remembering a woman out here in our little town who was shot and killed by her husband this week. So sad and so senseless. They were both such friendly people. I really liked them. I guess you never know.
Oh yeah, also thinking about Uncle Chuck and the rest of his family.
Remembering our parents Norman and Helen Pooley, Ed and Sophie Kuusisto, Karen Kuusisto, Janet Trasti, Aunt Lyle Pooley, our good buddy Nitz Kumpula and our brother in law and friend, Wayne Hartmann. We love and miss you all and you live in our hearts today and always.

Remembering my Dad, John Blomquist, who would have been 82 on Feb 12. He used to sing us kids songs every night as a bedtime routine....although at the time we didn't know lots of them were just the bass lines from choir songs. The closer was always "Now The Day is Over"...a beautiful hymn.

Thinking of dad (Grampa Norm) today, like everyday since the 18th when he left us. We miss him very much, my life is just not the same, I keep wanting to call him in Florida and tell him how cold it is here in Michigan and just "open a keg of nails"(chew the fat) as he would so often say. Dad was really fond of the Burger King in Calumet and McDonalds in Houghton, In our travels we could afford to eat any where, but dad always liked a good Whopper (as long as they were 2 for 1), or a 99 cent double cheeseburger and don't forget his senior citizen diet coke,LOL. Well, dad I hope they have them up there! He's with my mom now and the rest of his family, so we can take comfort in that I guess.
Deb- Thinking of you and Ron as well, I hope it's getting a little easier for you to smile when thinking of your dad, and thanks for the kind words Deb.
Remembering my Brother, Dennis Smith, these past few days. He's been gone now for 5 years and I miss him, but I'm sure he's watching from up above. I must admit I feel his presence on many occasions. Today I'll have that cup of coffee and some Thimbleberry Jam in his honor. (Oh how he loved that jam!)

Lke so many here, I am missing my dad as well. I only knew him 33 years. He left way too soon for me. Being the farm girl I am, I miss most going out with dad and "talking" to the cows. He could make them look like they were saying exactly like their expressions appeared.

In memory today of my sister's partner of 22 years, Rich Carroll, who left us last Sunday. He was so brilliant, so funny, so loving and so loved by so many. He lead us all with his light and his big, big heart.
Gospeed, Butch. The road is open. Ride for the light.

Remembering with much love Maxwell Hastings Smith, 95. A man who lived his life helping others and showing his love of his Savior to everyone he met. We were blessed to call Max our friend for the last 15 years.
And also remembering Grandpa Norm, who we never met, but got to know on these pages. We know how much your family misses you every day.

Remembering my aunt, Mary(Butala)Tressel who passed away in Feb. 1978. When we all would be up visiting my grandparents at the same time, my aunt and I would sit on the big bench behind the camp and talk and watch the cars go by, and wait for the occasional freighter passing by out in the lake. Even though I was just a youngster/teenager and then adult, my aunt and I would sit for hours and talk. Memories that I treasure till this day.

Remembering Mom...only person I knew who gave unconditional love. I miss you, Mom. She passed March, 1998.
"The road is open, ride for the light"...I like that too.
Lest we forget the one and only Paul Harvey who left us this Saturday the 28th at 90 years of age!
By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Sunday, March 1, 2009 - 08:42 am:
Remembering my wonderful parents, both of whom passed in February, my Dad in 1985, and my Mom in 1991. I still think about you both so often, and I miss you so much! I really wish you both could have been around to be grandparents to my 3 sons! You would have been awesome grandparents!
My thoughts and prayers are with Uncle Chuck, Norma in Midland, and your extended family on the passing of Grandpa Norm. It really does get a little bit easier, with passing time.
Remembering Ruth Loukinen Ristola. Hard to believe it has been seven years.
