The trio of photos today come from David Clark, one of our newest photographers to register for a Pasty Guest Gallery Photo Album. David was recently out and about in the Keweenaw and snapped these photos along several trails he visited. The first is a different perspective of a Kearsarge snowmobile trail, making it look like you're going off into the clouds when you get to the top.
The next trail Dave visited was the Michigan Tech Ski trails, where he encountered some blowing snow, coming off the built up banks along the edge of the trail. That's not all he encountered though, as you can see in his last photo. That's Blizzard, the Michigan Tech Huskies mascot and here's what Dave had to say about this character he spotted:
"The "Blizzard" photo was taken at the Bigfoot Snowshoe Event at the Tech Trails. There were a TON of people out there, including a whole horde of DaWGs (the Tech Pep Band) with their stripes and crazy hats. I was out with one of my friends -- we'd already done all three loops (2k, 4k, and 6k) and were sliding down hills generally goofing off -- when we saw someone dressed up as Blizzard in the middle of a big group of DaWGs! I grabbed that shot through the trees, and it turned out like some sort of Steve Irwin documentary. I imagine that suit is nice and warm, and if you look closely he's wearing a Bigfoot Snowshoe shirt as well."
Sounds like a fun time was had by all! You can check out other photos David has taken by visiting his Blog. Just click here.
…and good luck to everyone in the U.P. 200 in Marquette this weekend.
