The temperatures in the Keweenaw this week, have been a trifle warmer than last week's frigid morning temps of below zero and I'm not sure if it's just a change in the weather pattern or if Dave Mongeau might have had something to do with it. That's Dave in his summer Letter Carrier uniform, standing below the SNB temperature sign reading -3° (Brrrr..). His wife Mary took the photo of him last Thursday during the cold snap and I'm thinking that Mother Nature may have taken notice of his attire and figured maybe it's time to give the Letter Carriers (and other folks who work outdoors for a living), a break by warming up the air a little. It's still not quite shorts and short sleeve weather, but if Dave is still out there on his route dressed like that, at least he's a bit warmer than he was that day.
The second photo is what you more typically will see your Letter Carrier dressed like as he/she delivers your mail this time of year. This photo was snapped by Carl Kiilunen a few winters ago as my hubby, Jim Drew delivered his mail. Jim hasn't worn that uniform in three years, since he's retired and working for me, now! :->

So there you have it... Day number 4,000 of the Pasty Cam, without missing even one. Thanks to all the visitors who have become contributors (like Mary Mongeau and Carl Kiilunen). Without you, we wouldn't be here. Keep those 'Glimpses of life in the U.P.' coming :o)

I second that Charlie...the daily 'glimpses' have become a welcomed tradition and are greatly appreciated. Happy 4000!

Mary I've been married for well over thirty years so I know Jim didn't just start working for you. It's just that now he's full time instead of time sharing with the USPS. >

I think Jim is enjoying his retirement very much. With all his honey dos, helping around home, camping out in their boat, going out to the farm and doing a little gardening to feed the deer. Jim the deer don't like garlic, but don't plant them upside down.
