A new year begins, a new day dawns, yet we always remember the loved ones and friends that have left us along the way. This month we especially recall:

In remembernce of my Mother Mary Viola Miron Brunk and her mother Cecilia Parr who both left this Earth in Januarys. My mother on January 8th, 1994 and her mother on January 26, 1967 I still remember that day when I went to visit my grandmother and she took ill. I asked her could I do anything for her and she replied "how bout a pot o'tea, my girl"?

I'm still remembering my dad, who passed away on December 9th. It's so hard to get over that.

In memory of my Grandma Kathryn Pastore as we begin our 2nd year without her in our lives. Kathryn was a very special person who wore many different hats as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and special friend. She touched many people, affected so many lives and she will always be remembered for her kindness and smiling face.

This month I remember my dad, Fritz Marsy, who passed away on
January 21, 2006. I think about him every day and miss that he
made me laugh about something every time I talked to him. I also
remember June Bergh from my Jacobsville days. She was a
wonderful, warm, caring woman who made the world a better
place.

Also in memory of my Mom, June Dolores Koski Houle, gone since '06 and my Dad, Robert Elmer Houle, Sr who left us in Sept of '08... This past weekend would have been their 68th wedding anniversary.

This week found the passing of our great brother-in-law Clarence "Pete" Thibodeau at his residence in Florida..Uncle Pete grew up out in Trap Rock Valley and was a Lake Linden graduate and served at the end of WW11 in China and Japan..He was there for us over the past 50 years as we all moved to the Detroit area and he served as our beacon. May he rest in peace.

I'd like to remember my Dad, Peter Pini, who died 15 years ago on Jan. 5th, 1994. Sure doesn't seem like he's been gone that long. He had a long wait, but Mom and him are together again. Sure do miss them both.

Also want to remember George Rangus, a Laurium resident and Vietnam era vet who passed away on Jan 15th, and Carl Puuri, 76, a native of Houghton who died on Jan 23 in Virginia, where he had lived in recent years.

Remembering with love, Denny Buckmaster, who died much too young this month. Fisherman, faithful in service to his Lord, and all 'round great guy. We all miss you so much Denny!

Remembering my husband Jerry who went to be with the Lord on Jan. 8th, 2007. I miss my love and best friend.

Paulette Roy was a phenomenal woman, who helped alot of families raise their children. She was always smiling and full of love.

JoAnne Rheault was a great lady as well...she always was smiling such a beautiful smile for everyone!

Remembering my dad, Doc Meier, who would have been 84 today. It's been 2 years since he left us on Jan. 6, 2007, but it feels like forever. We miss you, Daddy.

And thanks, Brita, for letting us see the world through your eyes, again. I go to your pages nearly everyday for a dose of "home" and a pick-me-up.

In Memory of Sandra Heiman who just passed away 2 weeks ago at the age of 45 Your family will miss you

Just a note to add in memory of June Bergh. She was our faithful
organist at First Baptist Church in Calumet for many, many years.
She genuinely loved the Lord, and was a great role model. She was
also like a "second mother" in my growing up years. My sister
Lynn and I so enjoyed our visits for tea down at "Grandma June's"
cozy little house in Lake Linden in the summers. We will always
have good memories of her, and look forward to seeing her again
someday.
