Looks like somebody in Brita Haapala's family received new skis for Christmas and he sure looks happy to be outside taking them for a test glide. It certainly didn't take him long to leave Brita in the fluff, either, as he strides through the snow. Cross Country skiing is one of the best ways to get out in the woods and check out the scenery, as you glide along at your own pace.... that is, unless you take to your skis during a good snowfall, then your view is a bit hazier, as in the bottom photo taken by Randy Smith. His brother Doug Smith sent it to me, saying it was from a weekend adventure they had taken.
Sunny or snowy, getting off the beaten path in the Keweenaw is a great way to spend the day!
