a rhetorical question. Hopefully all have an open mind and can accept the fact we all don't have the same opinions and beliefs, but we're all from the same species :)

Sure we can still be friends. No one can solve the problems of the world, just talk about them. :( No one is right and no one is wrong, it's what that person believes in.

We can all be friends, I believe God gave us all a mind that we can do and or think what we want. Believe what we want or not. Whether it is Religion or whatever it may be. Everyone is their own person! 100 per cent.

Yup, for sure friends. We will always disagree. It's human nature. It's whether or not you can actually talk about it without getting mad that makes you a grown-up.

As for me, OF COURSE! I never saw the original debate, but certainly enjoyed it today when it came up again. I love the thoughtful and educated presentation of opposing views, although I agree, stick to issues, facts, not personal comments.

Very interesting to see this deeper side of our cyber friends....

I believe Voltaire said it best......

"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

It was not Voltaire, but instead Evelyn Beatrice Hall.

This is Pastys version of the Rodney King question. I am with the capt, no matter who he is quoting.

The older I get, the more impressed I am by the importance of human diversity. We're all so different—and a good thing, too. We need all kinds of people. We need people who can express their emotions (actors, for example) and people who can control their emotions (surgeons, for example); we need people who are doers and pushers, people who make things happen. We also need people who are reflective, caring and intuitive. We need people who are interested in things, and people who are interested in people. We need all the traditional opposites: artists and critics, coaches and players, bosses and underlings. Male and female. And somehow, we've just got to get along.

- Michael Crichton, on importance of diversity.
