Good Morning to all, A few weeks back I started a discussion on pasties. I loved all the feed back. May of you had some great tips for making the beloved pasty. I'm baking cookies for the holidays and thought this might start a good discussion and get us all into some much needed holiday spirit. Today I'm making pecan sandies & sugar cookies My grandma's recipes. I'm looking for a good oatmeal butterscotch recipe if anyone would like to share. Have a great day everyone.

Joyce Tormala gets the photography award today. Very interesting photos and to think that those icy images will never appear again...ever. By the way, did anyone see the National Geo special last night "Journey to the Edge of the Universe"? It was really spectacular.

Hi Joanne - Don't have a specific recipe, but a tip to pass along they mentioned on Fox & Friends. They had a baking expert on who said to keep soft cookies from crumbling do this: a few minutes before mixing, sprinkle a cup of the flour with a tablespoon of water. That helps the gluten to start to bond before the flour is coated with the butter/margarine, etc.

Joanne...my oatmeal cookie recipe is on the backide of the lid from the container of Quaker Oats Old Fashion Oats. Lovingly produced right here in Cedar Rapids, Ia.! I add a bit more cinnamon to this recipe. It makes the best oatmeal cookie that I have found so far.

Deb....I'm thinking about you today. With Mr. Deb and your sons, you have several sets of strong shoulders to lean on. Take care!

HEY DEB:
I KNOW THIS A DIFFICULT TIME FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY, BUT TELL ME THAT ONE STORY ABOUT YOUR DAD THAT PUTS A SMILE ON YOUR FACE WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT IT. A STORY ABOUT YOU AND YOUR DAD OR JUST YOUR DAD.

There are too many to list. My dad was a card. He kept us in stitches much of the time. Believe me, I'm remembering them too. It's just hard to think of him as gone. And today is the finality of it all. Well, not quite. His ashes will be buried in the spring.

Deb, thinking of you today. I know it will be a hard day but remember you have lots of Pasty friends thinking and praying for you.

I still have to take my moms AND my youngest brothers ashes up to Calumet. So, I do know it is hard, Deb.
My daughter and I just had lunch at Lindel's; my compliments to the cook, the food was excellent. Nice to see the place open again.
