Since the daily Pasty Cam began in 1998 we have featured a mix of indoor and outdoor U.P. scenes. On this day over the past 10 years, what was the percentage of outdoor pictures?

A mathematical Early Bird challenge.

Good mornin'....80% outside....

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Monday, December 8, 2008 - 06:11 am:

80% outdoor, 20% indoor

correct, but missed it by a nose

Good Morning from Marquette.

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Monday, December 8, 2008 - 06:26 am:

I thought it was a trick question since Ashley's shot with Jewel & Pumpkin could possibly have been outside!

Good Morning, but it is just about time to go back to bed and take a nap. I woke up extra early to get my split pea soup started.

My mom told me if my split pea soup was to thin I can always put potato flakes in it to thicken it up. It works. I never was a good cook- but everything seems to turn out good. ;O)

I have not had any complaints.

Good morning!

Well, the weekend just flew by, as always. It was a busy one. We went to see TSO yesterday afternoon. Had our first fender bender EVER on the way there. I swear people can't drive if it snows out. The guy in front of us went around somebody in front of him who signaled late, and wound up fishtailing. He couldn't pull out of it and wound up hitting us. Thankfully Mr. Deb was smart enough to know we were going to get hit and slowed down to nothing. So we didn't get hurt, but there's fender damage. GRRRRR..... Both of us were so frustrated knowing we were going to be late for the concert, but happy that we, and the guy ahead of us, were all okay.

Have a great day everybody. Sure do wish I didn't have to work, but at least it's only a half day today because I have to work on Saturday.

Split pea soup sounds great mickill mouse.

Deb S. Those type of drivers are plentiful here in eastern Iowa too! They help bring in the huge commision checks for my husband! :)

They are forecasting freezing rain starting at 4:00 this afternoon here in Lansing. I am trying to reschedule a 4:15 appt so I don't have to be out there. Unfortunately, not everyone learned to drive in the UP....sigh.

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Monday, December 8, 2008 - 08:29 am:

Its a cold morning out there today. Be careful this afternoon, Cindy and all you guys by Lansing.

Weather here in NW Illinois sounds very iffy, Rain, freezing rain and tomorrow a bunch of snow. Have to decide if we cancell our Christmas gathering tonight or not. This art group has a large number of us "older folks" some who drive a rather distant road.Decisions, decisions!I had a very cold but wonderful weekend in central Wis. to see g'daughter Monica in high school play!Three of my 5 kids were there. Grand time together! Everyone have a warm day today.

There was a lady that made us hit the curb. Our vehicles were RIGHT next to each other and she decided she wanted to merge to the right to get around the car in front of her. She just started to merge to the right which was right into our vehicle. Bill slowed up thinking she would see what she was doing, but she just kept on coming over. Finally Bill hit the curb as he came to a stop and she just kept on going. LUCKILY, the person behind us saw what was happening because they stopped behind us. She had a S.U.V. but we have a 2008 Dodge Ram so there was NO way she did not see us or was in her blind spot. Our vehicles were right next to each other when she did that. I knew better than to tell Bill to catch up to her to at least get her plate number because what happened really shook him up. He pulled into a parking lot and got out and walked around for a while.

It just makes you wonder what people are thinking as they are driving? Sometimes I think they are NOT thinking. I really do not like to drive in the winter to much anyway.

Everybody be careful out there, even if you are not driving in the snow- be careful.

By Daveofmohawk (Daveofmohawk) on Monday, December 8, 2008 - 01:49 pm:

Sometimes us Yoopers falsely believe that we are such experts at driving in the snow that we can drive just as fast in winter as in summer. BEWARE! To think like this is a huge mistake.

FYI for those wondering about Lindells in Lake Linden, just drove thru there and its OPEN.

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Monday, December 8, 2008 - 03:29 pm:

LETS HEAR IT FOR WHOEVER GOT LINDELLS OPEN ;O))

FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND- THE OWNER OF JILBERTS BOUGHT IT?

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Monday, December 8, 2008 - 08:10 pm:

Lindell's is open?????? That is great news!!!!!! That town is not the same without Lindell's being open. That place holds so many wonderful memories for me. Can't wait to visit next time I'm UP.

Now, is mickill mouse right about who opened it?

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Monday, December 8, 2008 - 08:35 pm:

I have not seen mention of the horrible fatal accident that happened at the Quincy Mine this past weekend, here on Pasty. My thoughts and prayers go out to the professor's family and friends. Capt Paul and Dr Nat, I assume that you all knew him, and were probably friends? I am so sorry to hear about it! It is a tragic loss to Michigan Tech & the Geology Dept! (There are articles both at the MiningGazette.com & wluctv6.com.)

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 - 04:48 am:

I talked to someone who lives in Lake Linden and that is what she told me. That Jilberts bought Lindells. I , personally, do not know if that is true or not.
