The vast majority of pictures on the Pasty Cam are scenes captured in the U.P. But on some occasions we bring shots by former U.P. residents who have been transplanted elsewhere. Today's decade review contains such a shot. In what state was it taken?

By RD, Iowa (Rdiowa) on Saturday, December 6, 2008 - 12:41 am:

Looks like it's not a state, but instead the District of Columbia (2002).

Thanks for the poultry. By the way, it is still yesterday here.

District of Columba 2002 trying for the early bird since RD got the night owl.

Just kidding Charlie, want to see if you are awake yet. Being in Michigan it is today not yesterday like RD

What is the ugly tall building in today's Pasty Cam video of 1998 Hancock Reflections used for? It certainly doesn't appear to fit the community wherein it is located. Are there any other such ugly buildings in the vicinity?

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Saturday, December 6, 2008 - 11:47 am:

Morning! Love Dan and Katie's pictures. They're gorgeous.

Have a great day. Think I'm gonna start wrapping presents.

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Saturday, December 6, 2008 - 03:01 pm:

I AM PRETTY SURE THAT 'UGLY TALL BUILDING' IN THE 1998 HANCOCK REFLECTIONS- IS A BANK.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Saturday, December 6, 2008 - 03:12 pm:

The tall building in 1998 was indeed a bank. It was for a long time D&N Bank, then became Republic Bank, now I believe Tech leases it for office space; someone locally can correct me if I'm wrong!!

As far as other ugly buildings, the condos next to the Bridge would rank as pretty repulsive and hideous in my book.....

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Saturday, December 6, 2008 - 06:59 pm:

All I can say about the condos next to the bridge- is I am sooooo glad I have pictures of the bridge without THAT thing being in the shot. It was soooooo stupid to put it there. :o(

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Saturday, December 6, 2008 - 07:06 pm:

I always thought the D & N building was kind of pretty. I will agree with you on the condos though. What a dumb place to put them. You can't even get a decent picture of the bridge without having them in there. YUCK!! BIG mistake putting those there.
