Christmas Day-What'sUP December 25 - 12:24 pm

Either of today's photos would make a perfect Christmas Card scene and that's why they were chosen to decorate the Pasty Cam pages today. It's our Merry Christmas to all of you who visit these pages, courtesy of E. Neil and Susan Harri (top photo), along with Sharon Smith (bottom photo).

Neil managed to catch the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse beacon reflecting across the ice and freeze it in time. I can't help but compare this star-like flash of light that guides freighters and boaters throughout the year, to the bright star in the east that guided the wise men to find the newborn King, swaddled in a stable.

A look at Sharon's snowy road scene shows some fairly icy looking roads to travel. She snapped this photo on US41, just north of Lake Medora. Here in the Copper Country we often encounter less than perfect road conditions, but we've learned to negotiate our way around, just fine.

Merry Christmas to you all, from snowy mid-Michigan. We are supposed to be getting some mixed precip (snow, sleet, freezing rain) tomorrow, followed by rain on Sat. Some of the areas south of us could get some flooding from too rapid melt off or ice jams. I hope everyone stays safe! (My oldest son is heading south tomorrow, to host some of his Mich Tech friends for the Great Lakes Invitational Hockey tourney at the Joe. I hope they all have a safe journey. And, good luck to Mich Tech. They played great last year!)
