My grandfather used to have a sparrow that he tamed to live with him and my grandmother. He'd eat from his hand, be let out of his cage and always come back. The day after my grandfather died, that sparrow disappeared and was never seen again. At least I think that's how the story went. Birds are very interesting creatures.

Back in the 70's I had a little sparrow that moved into my car. He would sit on the steering wheel and ride with me. This went on all winter and spring until it got too hot and then he flew away and was never seen again.

I still think that the photo from 2002 is one of the funniest I have ever seen...

Wow Charlie and Mary, you sure hit the daily double today in posting pics...... Shafthouses and freighters are our favorites!!
