It's that time of year here UP North, when the gray of leafless trees, makes way for the brighter look of the first fallen snows. As much as I dislike shoveling the white stuff, I also have to admit that it does make everything look fresh and clean. Doug and Becky Grusser took a picture out at Big Bay, near Marquette, that shows just how nicely the beginnings of winter can lighten the landscape around Lake Superior. With the shorter days now, folks that work outside the home often leave in the dark and return home in the dark too, so the white snow on the ground can help to make those daylight hours just a bit brighter.

Looks like down here, except for the Beautiful Lake, of course! Nice pic!

Even though there's snow, I love the picture. We still have none here, but it is so darn cold.

I ADORE the snow, and it looks so beautiful next to the Big Lake. I bet it stays white and beautiful up there. Here in Jersey it either turns black or turns to rain. Can't wait to leave!

There is a large article in the DETROIT FREE PRESS today on the Calumet Copper Kings girls volleyball team that has qualified for the state finals. They just happened to beat our Monroe St Marys CC last evening The article is on page 10C this week I am using a Windows 95 that doesnt work too good
