We've officially had our first snow here in the Keweenaw and even if you aren't quite ready for winter to have made its appearance, you have to admit that the white blanket draped over the ground, "cleans" up the landscape. With this photo taken by Steve Brimm, you can see what I mean. Just that little dusting of snow on the ground changes the scene to something bright, rather than just the leafless branches, the dried grass, and leaves spread out below. So see, if you aren't looking forward to this next season change, you now have at least one reason to look forward to the white array of winter.

Steve Brimm also had a shoreline shot with trees on the Pasty Cam back in 2001 on this day.
If you are a daily visitor to the Pasty Cam and haven't checked the daily What'sUP page lately, we have a one-minute slideshow every morning, reviewing this day's pictures over the past decade, to the peaceful sound of Simon Wolfe's Tiger Bay.
By the way, congratulations to Quincy Mine Hoist Association marking its 50th anniversary, in conjunction with the 100th anniversary of the #2 Shaft-Rockhouse, as well as the 160th Anniversary of the Quincy Mining Company itself. There's a banquet tonight in Houghton marking the occasion, with Larry Lankton scheduled to speak after the dinner. For more info call the Association at 906-482-3101.
